Paris Is Burning, and Brussels Is Still Writing Regulations

Dr. Robert W. Malone, 10/21/26

Europe’s political class promised prosperity through bigger government, mass immigration, and endless regulation. The results haven’t lived up to the promise of socialism. They never do.

Rome is burning, and Europe’s political class is still arguing over how many regulations, subsidies, and government programs it will take to put out the fire.

For decades, Europe’s “progressive” establishment has promoted an increasingly expensive social contract: more government services, generous benefits, shorter working hours, greater regulation, and the promise that someone else will pay for it all. Meanwhile, businesses are expected to absorb the costs, entrepreneurs are buried in paperwork, and governments increasingly look to imported labor to compensate for aging populations and persistent labor shortages.

But importing workers is not the same as creating prosperity. Immigration can strengthen an economy when newcomers possess needed skills, find productive employment, and contribute more than they consume in public resources. When immigration outpaces job creation, housing construction, education, and integration, the costs do not disappear. They are transferred to taxpayers, communities, and already strained public services.

Was Burnham Appointed to Destroy Britain?

Dr Vernon Coleman, 10/21/2026

I have little doubt that it was behind the scenes machinations from the conspirators which resulted in the appointment of Andy Burnham as Prime Minister. And I fear that the people now pulling his strings have ordered him to destroy what is left of Britain.

And he’s doing a good job. He constantly gushes about making life easier and better for the poor, the sick and the elderly. But everything he has done since assuming the unearned role of Prime Minister has made life worse – much worse. Costs of fuel and food are soaring because of his policies and he has clearly put the Ukrainians first and the British second.

The poor and the elderly are his most obvious victims. Relatives of the assaulted are furious at his policy of releasing prisoners early in a curious amnesty. (Is this being done to make room in the prisons for imprisoning supporters of Palestine and those who dare use social media to question Government policy? Nothing is now impossible in a country where `freedom of speech’ is a forgotten concept. Britain has been turned into one of those tragic countries which come bottom of the list when `freedom’ is assessed.) People trying to run businesses are constantly alarmed at the way the Labour Government seems determined to make life more difficult for them.

Groups Sue PSC for Refusing to Consider Climate Change

Cre

Montana’s Constitution establishes the right to a clean and healthful environment. Does that right extend to how the state regulates the climate impacts of monopoly utilities, like NorthWestern Energy?

A coalition of businesses, environmental groups and healthcare professionals says yes. That’s why they first petitioned the Montana Public Service Commission to include climate change in its regulatory decision-making two years ago.

Last month the PSC formally rejected that petition, and this week EarthJustice and the Western Environmental Law Center filed suit in state district court on behalf of 17 groups including the Montana Chapter of the American Academy of

Derek Goldman with the Northwest Energy Coalition is one of the petitioners-turned-plaintiffs. In a statement about the lawsuit, he said, “With each passing year, the effects of greenhouse gas pollution on Montana and the region become more severe.”

U.S. and Israel “Might Have Gone Too Far” With Killing Iran Leadership

10/15/2026 // Garrison Vance

President Donald Trump said Monday, Oct. 12, that the United States and Israel "might have gone too far" with the killing of Iranian leaders, suggesting the campaign had complicated negotiations with the Islamic Republic, according to a report by Dave DeCamp published by Antiwar.com on Tuesday, Oct. 13. [1]

Trump made the comments at a campaign rally in Youngstown, Ohio on Monday while repeating his usual claims about the state of Iran, the report said. The remarks marked a notable public acknowledgment from the president that the decapitation campaign against Iran's leadership may have created as many problems as it solved. According to the report, Trump's statement indicated that the killings were complicating negotiations with Tehran at a moment when Washington is seeking an end to the conflict that began in late February. Québec's Premier Who Legalized Euthanasia, has Second Thoughts.

https://coalitionpreventioneuthanasie.blogspot.com

Philippe Couillard, who was the Premier of Québec in 2014 when euthanasia was legalized, stated on a CBC radio program that he is not sure if he would support that law today.

Québec legalized euthanasia in 2014, before the Supreme Court of Canada promulgated the Carter decision which struck down Canada's criminal code statutes protecting Canadians from euthanasia and assisted suicide.

Quebéc legalized euthanasia by defining it (killing) as healthcare.  Canada's constitution recognizes the provinces as having jurisdiction over healthcare in Canada.

Darren Major reported for CBC News on October 10 that:

The former Québec premier who oversaw passage of Canada's first-ever medically assisted dying law says he now feels conflicted after seeing how far the practice has progressed since then.  ...

A Timely Repeat

By Margaret Dore

In another life, I talked three young men down from suicide.

What I think happened is that a final exit network type person had given them my phone number by mistake. This was before the age of caller ID.

I was contacted by each of the three young men over a period of time, each one wanting assistance to kill himself.

I called a suicide prevention person to ask what I should do, i.e., with regard to the first one. The person told me to ask the suicidal person why? To engage him.

So that’s what I did. I met each one at a local Seattle park, which I thought would be safe for me and asked him why, and then I tried to expand to other topics.

The Stranger: What's Behind the Gilded Doors of Aegis Senior Living?

If you’ve seen old folks’ homes with a certain Cheesecake Factory aesthetic popping up around Washington, you know Aegis Living. A private pay assisted living chain that does not accept Medicare.

Aegis owns $2.5 billion in property across Washington, California, and Nevada, including 23 “luxury” senior living centers in the Seattle area. Aegis’ CEO claims that the company brings in nearly $250 million in annual operating revenues from resident costs that can climb into the tens of thousands of dollars per month. Living at Aegis appears to be worth it, though: in March, their Greenwood facility was named the number one senior living facility in the country.

With Medicaid cuts threatening to shut down many of our elder care facilities in the Pacific Northwest, there’s never been a better time to get to know our local retirement home landlord.

Vernon Coleman, October 11, 2026

It’s possible to argue that the worst thing that could happen to anyone with covid (and this includes those poor souls who had a positive PCR test and who were therefore regarded as having covid when they really had something else) is to be admitted to hospital.

Too many so-called covid patients were killed by the treatment they were given.

Patients who were put on ventilators were killed. The best treatment for those with genuine breathing difficulties would have been a simple, cheap course of steroids. Indeed, a cup of caffeine rich coffee would have probably relieved more breathing distress than the treatment programmes favoured by many hospitals.

The British Government set up a Covid Inquiry to investigate the covid hoax. They refused to allow me to give evidence in an expensive inquiry which is supposed to be searching for the truth about the fake covid pandemic but which merely takes evidence from people who got everything wrong. Thousands of people asked the Inquiry to listen to my evidence but the lawyers were not interested in knowing why I got everything right and the Government and the medical establishment got everything dangerously, predictably wrong. I cannot think of anything that governments around the world got right about covid.

The Bombing

Wednesday, August 14, 2024

By Margaret Dore, Esq.

My mother had always thought that Silas "Trim" Bissell of the Bissell Vacuum Fortune, and of the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society), had bombed our Seattle home.

The bomb, dynamite, had been thrown on the roof above my parents' bedroom closet adjacent to our carport. She was home with my four siblings. My father, a state legislator, and I were in the state capitol, staying at different places. I was 12 years old.  It was 1970.

A Thump on the Roof

My mother told me that she had heard a thump on the roof above her bedroom closet, which had caused her to put her head in the closet, under the bomb, to try and figure out what had caused the noise.
She then went outside the house and into our carport, once again, physically placing herself under the bomb.

She then went back to the front door, which my brother Rick had locked, apparently trying to be funny.  He finally let her in, which slowed her down on her way back to the bedroom to look in the closet again.

My memory per her telling is that she was back in the bedroom and close to the closet when the bomb went off. Most of the force went up. My memory is that she was not hurt. It took me years to figure out that a slight difference in timing could have led to her having been seriously injured or killed. Would my father have remarried? Would I have had half-siblings with a step mother?

Illinois Court Blocks State from penalizing Catholic Hospitals that Refuse to provide Assisted Suicide

Israel Duro:

A federal court has barred Illinois from penalizing Catholic and religious hospitals that operate as healthcare providers for refusing to participate in the state's assisted suicide law. The ruling also allows them to refuse to inform patients how to obtain medication to end their lives.

District Judge Franklin U. Valderrama issued a temporary restraining order last week preventing the Department of Financial Professionals Regulation and the Department of Public Health from enforcing the state law against the plaintiffs....

The End-of-Life Options Act (EOLO) stipulates that healthcare providers who refuse to inform patients about the alleged "benefits" of assisted suicide, refer those who request it to professionals willing to provide the service, provide information that the state considers "misinformation," or record deaths resulting from lethal prescriptions as caused by the underlying illness, face fines of up to $10,000, loss of license, and possible criminal charges.

Physicians Differ on the MAID Decision

If nothing is done, Maid will be permitted as of March.

Physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador have different perspectives on the federal government's decision to not allow a mental illness to become the sole basis for receipt for medical assistance in dying (MAID).

However, earlier this week, Canada's Justice Minister Sean Fraser revealed the government will be introducing legislation to continue to rule it out under the Criminal Code indefinitely.

A professor of bioethics in the Faculty of Medicine and Memorial University of Newfoundland, Daryl Pullman, said he thinks it was a good decision.

"After all, we're talking about ending another human being's life, and I think we should have the strictest sort of oversight and criteria around that," he said, adding the declaration by the government in Ottawa "seems to say well, let's slow down here at least in this space and take a look at it."

“Dignity” Bill in in New Jersey OKs Starving Dementia Patients to Death

New Jersey lawmakers have introduced Senate Bill 4186, the “Dementia Dignity and Advance Care Planning Act.” It is wrong on many, many grounds.

Wesley J. Smith wrote about this legislation in National Review Online on May 18th. He warns that “moves are afoot in bioethics” that could allow dementia advance directives to be used either to authorize euthanasia where legal or to require withholding food and water from patients who can no longer provide current consent, even when they may still appear willing to eat or drink.

Supporters frame the bill around autonomy, quality of life, and reducing emotional and financial burdens. They argue that it allows individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias to create “Dementia Specific Advance Directives” (DSADs) while they still have “decisional capacity.”

No one disputes the devastation of dementia. Many of us have watched helplessly as memory, speech, and independence faded in someone we loved. Legislators invoke that suffering to justify this bill.

What they do not advertise is that this creates a potential dangerous structure in which withdrawal of artificial nutrition and hydration becomes routine in certain cases.

Fatally Flawed Experiments In Austrailian Euthanasia Assisted Suicide Laws

Richard Egan is a researcher who has studied euthanasia and assisted suicide since 1987.

© Richard Egan 2025

Beginning with the first, short-lived experiment with a law permitting euthanasia, which was conducted in the Northern Territory from July 1996 to March 1997, there are thirty jurisdictions which have (or had) a scheme permitting either euthanasia or assisted suicide or both.

For other jurisdictions considering whether to legalize assisted suicide or euthanasia these jurisdictions can usefully be seen as a series of experiments in attempting to create the much vaunted “safe” regime for assisted suicide or euthanasia.

The data from each of these laboratory experiments in ending human lives is patchy. Many of the regimes, despite claims of their “safety”, seem to have been deliberately designed to minimize the collection and publication of data to make it impossible ever to know how often things go wrong.

Nonetheless scrutiny of all the data that is available from these experiments leads to the conclusion that
they are all – in various ways – fatally flawed.

Instead of Civil War, a Naked Mole Rat Colony Changed Queens Peacefully

WEKU, partner publisher · 235.3K followers,

By Pien Huang,

When the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego got their first naked mole rat colony in 2019, the researchers named them the "amigos" — Spanish for "friends."

Naked mole rats are subterranean mammals native to East Africa. Since the 1960s, scientists have studied captive colonies in labs and zoos for their unusual living arrangements and their long, healthy lives.

The Salk colony's name was prescient. A few years later, they exhibited a peaceful transition that bucks the conventional wisdom on how naked mole rat colonies change queens — which is usually through all-out warfare.

"Maybe they heard us and they were like, okay, we'll show you that we're friends," says Shanes Abeywardena, a veterinarian and postdoctoral fellow in scientist Janelle Ayres' lab. Abeywardena and her colleagues documented the nonviolent changing of the queens for the April 15 issue of the journal Science Advances.

The Disturbing Truth about the Muslim Jesus

Raymond Ibrahim, 04/20/26

Tucker Carlson’s recent claim that “Muslims love Jesus” is worse than might appear. The problem is not that Muslims don’t really love Jesus; it’s that they love a counterfeit Jesus—one who promotes hate for and war on Christians.

Let’s carefully unpack this troubling claim.

On April 14, Tucker Carlson asserted:

The people in charge don’t want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus. Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist.

This is a perfect example of how a set of words can be true—literally speaking, what Tucker wrote is true—but can also mean antithetical things to antithetical audiences, in this case, Muslims and Christians.

Put differently, the “Jesus” Muslims love (known in Arabic as ‘Isa) behaves more like a faithful Muslim and sometime jihadist, not the Son of God proclaimed by the New Testament—which Muslims believe is fake news (or, in the Koran’s words, “distorted” and “corrupted,” from h-r-f, ح ر ف).

Alberta Seeks to Set Limits on "Medically Assisted Dying"

Jessica Murphy,
Sareen Habeshian

Alberta has proposed a bill that would limit the use of medically assisted dying - also known as voluntary euthanasia - in the Canadian province solely to end-of-life circumstances.

In 2021, Canada expanded access to medically assisted dying, known domestically by the acronym Maid, to people with serious, incurable illnesses or disabilities, even if their death is not reasonably foreseeable.

Canada is also due to expand access next year to people whose only medical condition is mental illness, though that has twice been delayed.

Alberta is the first jurisdiction in Canada to independently propose limits to the practice.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, said during a news conference on Wednesday that Maid should only be an option for those with no hope of recovery.

The Epoch Times: To Modern Readers, this Emphasis on Death may Seem Strange.

“Human stories,” J.R.R. Tolkien observed, “are practically always about one thing, aren’t they? Death.”

Tolkien was right. The greatest stories of the ages center on death—how people face it, or how they respond to loss.

In “Braveheart,“ William Wallace takes up Scotland’s cause after his wife is killed by an English soldier. In ”The Return of the King,“ Eowyn risks her life to slay the Witch-king after her uncle Theoden falls. In ”Wonder Woman,” Steve Trevor sacrifices himself to save others, flying away with a payload of poison gas.

The lesson of these stories is clear: When humans stop fearing death, they are capable of extraordinary things. Yet fear of death is common—nearly half of Americans report fearing death.

Many consider this natural, but Socrates disagreed. He called fear of death “the pretence of wisdom,” observing that “no one knows whether death, which they in their fear apprehend to be the greatest evil, may not be the greatest good.”

Socrates understood the same lesson of our stories: When we no longer fear the grave, we can live our full life. He was not the only teacher to grasp this truth.

The Black Lives that Don’t Matter

Allen West | Apr 06, 2026

Jaden Ivey discussed below

Last week the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the subject of birthright citizenship. Even President Trump sat in the chamber for a portion. I do find it quite perplexing that individuals who willfully violate our laws, disrespecting our national sovereignty, are rewarded by having their progeny become citizens of the very country their parents illegally entered.

From that perspective, one would believe that this would not be a policy a Nation should pursue, understanding the floodgates that would open. And of course, there are those who are intentionally exploiting this quite insidious policy, namely China. The long-term consequences of birthright citizenship could establish a potential wave of “sleeper” citizens to whom allegiance is not truly to this Constitutional Republic. The common American would look at this issue of birthright citizenship and ask, what is the issue? Why are those who illegally enter our country allowed to have the privilege of American citizenship bestowed upon their children?

And as an American Black man, that question truly resonates with me. I know I am not alone.

I find it quite hypocritical and laughable that the Marxist leftists of today are arguing in support of something they did not support when it was first introduced: the 14th Amendment. Matter of fact, the party of the jackass, aka the Democrat party, did not support the 13th, 14th, or 15th amendments when they were introduced. These were the amendments that ended slavery in these United States, a goal for which the Republican Party was established, granted citizenship to the freed slaves, and their children, and prohibited federal and state governments from denying a citizen (see 14th Amendment) the right to vote based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude (slavery, see 13th Amendment).

Trump Tells Iran ‘Time Is Running Out’

By

On Saturday morning, President Donald Trump gave the surviving rulers of the Islamic Republic of Iran another ultimatum: “Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”’This follows the president’s announcement on March 26:

“As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time. Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others, they are going very well. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

President DONALD J. TRUMP.”Just a few hours after he issued the Saturday morning ultimatum, however, Trump wrote: “Many of Iran’s Military Leaders, who have led them poorly and unwisely, are terminated, along with much else, with this massive strike in Tehran! President DONALD J. TRUMP.” It was unclear whether this meant that the 48-hour ultimatum was still in place or not, but the “massive strike” certainly removed any lingering doubt that Trump was in earnest.

Why Are Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia (ASE) Not Accepted in Eastern Cultures?

April 3, 2026*

COMMENTARY

The famous lines from Kipling’s poem, “The Ballad of East and West,” are often taken out of context and interpreted to mean that there are irreconcilable differences between Eastern and Western cultures. Actually, the subsequent lines of the poem suggest the opposite, that these cultural divisions vanish when individuals of equal strength meet, “tho’ they come from the ends of the earth!"

Perhaps so—but in the matter of assisted suicide and euthanasia (AS/E), there are indeed serious and perhaps irreconcilable differences between many countries of the “West” and those of the Asian “East.” To be sure, the terms East and West are rough and imprecise designations. In broad terms, for the purposes of this discussion, we include in the West primarily the European countries, such as Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, along with the US, the UK, and Canada.

Some would include Australia and New Zealand. Included in the East are, among others, China, Japan, India, and Korea. But as we will explain, the terms East and West in this article refer primarily to historically different cultural, philosophical, and spiritual traditions—all of which have great bearing on the matter of AS/E. These matters are of more than academic interest to psychiatrists, since patients of Eastern and Western cultural heritage may view end-of-life care—often involving psychiatric interventions—quite differently.1
